Ayder Plateau

It is located at 19km southwest of Çamlıhemşin district with an altitude of 1350m. It is the starting point of climbs to Kaçkar Mountains from the northern side. There are many accommodation options in the plateau from bungalows to typical mountain house concept, from family hostel to hotel. It is one of the most popular holiday spots in the region with its rich flora and fauna as well as the thermal spring.

Declared as “Culture and Tourism Preservation & Development Site” in 1987, Ayder has accommodation facilities and restaurants built by the Special Provincial Administration and private institutions. There are also accommodation and restaurants certified by the municipality and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Due to heliski activities carried out since 2004, the facilities are open at winter and operate during all year.

The healing water at Ayder is included in the low-mineral hot and mineral springs. The composition of this healing water consists of sodium sulphate, holgymetallic and radioactivity.
