Laleli Mosque

It is located in our town of Ikizce. It is known that a beylik was found under the name “Laloğlu” during the Seljuk dynasty whereafter the site was called “Lala”.  The mosque represents the features of this period. Made entirely of wood, the timbers used in the mosque is from the valonia oak resistant to the local climate.  As a result of the studies conducted with the tree used in the constriction, the mosque was understood to have been built 400-450 years ago.  The most important feature of the mosque is its nail-free construction.  It has no foundation and is based on stones.
