Pileki Cave

 

Made of a special stone, pileki is a kitchen tool unique to Black Sea region. It is has the shape of a round, hollowed bowl. This special stone is extracted from Pileki Cave located between Çitlikköy and Köşklü villages and processed afterwards. Pileki Cave was formed as a result of this operation which has been going on for thousands of years. The cave consists of two large areas at the entrance and many tunnels. It has wells and lakes inside. The cave has been introduced to tourism after completion of lighting and renovation works.
